I design chips. Semiconductor design, SoC and ASIC. Ph.D., then nearly thirty years in the same stack. I still work on the floor in San Jose.
I stayed on X because a tweet was enough when the work did not need a second room. That stopped being true. Architecture does not fit in a thread, and I did not want to launder it into a price target.
SVTrivo is the second room. One or two essays a week. Semiconductors, the companies that make them, and the Valley news that actually changes a floorplan. Not a single-name shop.
What is already public — including arguments I have already made on X — stays free. The table, the comparison, and the observation that only exist in that piece sit behind the paywall. I hold some of the names I write about. I say so. I do not publish the size.
I am not sell-side. There is no target.
Free: the hook you could have read on X, written so it still stands a year later.
Paid ($15 / month, $150 / year): the part I would not put on X. Seven-day trial is on.
